Overall I had a negative experience due to the member of staff called Michael, which made me uncomfortable for the remainder of my stay. It's a shame, as the other people were quite nice, and unfortunately I wasn't well when I arrived.
After my first night I went to the cafe and after roughly an hour Michael rudely demanded I pay and implied I was sitting there just wasting time. I don't believe he would have spoken to me that way if I was white or if I was with someone. I had looked over several times but the 3 of them had been busy chatting to each other. They had my phone on charge, so I was hardly going to run away.
I never went back to the cafe and felt uncomfortable every time I had to return to the hotel and see Michael there. Unfortunately I had booked a non-refundable 4 nights, so when I tried to cancel online I couldn't. I was so uncomfortable I ordered water and snacks from grabmart to avoid speaking to him & ordering.
There were other things like the noise of traffic during the night (I didn't sleep at all during the last night and struggled to sleep during the nights there), the lack of do not disturb signs, so cleaning will knock in the mornings, as I was ill and struggling to sleep this was also annoying, although if my experience had been more positive I probably wouldn't share this.
If I hadn't had more positive experiences with some of the other staff like Leon, Nizam, Ayesha, Hafiz etc, I would have rated it even lower because of Michael's rudeness.
