We booked 5 nights as a treat to celebrate and restore after finishing my chemotherapy treatment. It was exactly what we needed!
We weren’t told it, but we must have got an upgrade as I think we paid a room rate for one of the rooms in the larger, more basic looking complex on the hillside. I think the renovation works were delayed and we ended up in the newer ‘club’ rooms around the pool, which was very welcome. Looking at the hillside complex, it looked quite cramped up there! So, we got it for a steal really.
The architecture at the hotel is great, lots of open, calming, well-designed spaces and beautiful interiors and plants.
The main pool area and lounges were lovely.
The room was v comfortable, gorgeous balcony space, huge comfy bed, calming and cosy. Nice touch to provide gowns for using on the balcony/around the pool.
Breakfast buffet superb, lots of choice but not over the top. Clearly quality produce is used- gorgeous fresh fruit, cheeses, egg chef, pastries and unlimited barista coffee. Staff were wonderful throughout the hotel- special mention to Maria Joan the masseuse. I treated myself to a full body massage and it was sublime. Appreciated the included yoga classes which were put on some mornings.
Only negatives- the evening restaurant was expensive and disappointing, €8 for a bottle of still water is robbery. Construction noise almost constant due to renovations of main block. More hooks in the room. And why not provide olives/nuts with the €18 cocktails?!
