Preface: I know it's Asbury Park in the summer, things need to turn over quickly, the hotel makes probably 75% of its revenue in a few months, etc. But even all that said, just MEH.
Our room was $600. It was on the 2nd floor looking out at the guts of the HVAC system on the roof. It was beat down--everything in it was tired, drink ring stains like Venn diagrams all over every surface.
When we checked in at 5pm, there was a massive pile of dirty linens across from our door--like 5 trash bags of them spilling out--when we got back from dinner at 7, still there!
No coffee maker in the room, 2 towels... I didn't expect concierge service, but for $600 I expected a smidge more.
The good stuff:
- The people that worked there were all warm and when we called about the pile of linens still being there later, they came and got them. Peak season, and they were doing their best.
- Bed was comfortable, linens were clean
- Short walk to the beach/boardwalk and all that
