Nice hotel, needs a bit of freshening up

Nice hotel that just needs a little bit of updating. Lovely location, good parking, clean, nice room, lovely breakfast, friendly staff.
Sue, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

All the staff were really friendly. The room was lovely, clean and roomy. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety. The hotelnis in a perfect location, overlooking the harbour and just a short walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants. Plenty of parking spaces and secure.
julie, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel has a very nice view of the harbour. However, the carpets the hotel are very old, they need to be replaced.
Maureen, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The property was okay but the breakfast dining room was cold.
Allen, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Decent room close to harbour

Decent room for the price and we were lucky to get availability at last minute. Quite dated and worn in places eg wardrobe and bath, but it all functioned fine.
DAC, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Perfectly adequate

Room seemed clean and the bed was comfortable enough as i slept quite well, staff were friendly enough, the hotel is quite well situated with a good amount of restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat in
Stephen, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

A lovely quiet hotel with nice views of the Marina. We didn't dine at the Restaurant but went to the coffee shops next door which were nice and the hotel was close to a Tesco Express and a short walk to the Town centre. The staff were great but the hotel itself was a bit dated on the inside and out.
Amit, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Staff, if present, very impersonal. The ideal hotel if you have to take the ferry, it's very near
Sieglinde, 1-night trip

The view made it

We enjoyed our stay but normally we love it at the quay hotel, the breakfast was not upto its usual standard and the bed was hard, staff were really friendly which helped our stay plus looking over poole harbour is wonderful,
Richard, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

While on arrival the exterior of the hotel didn't look much, internally was very different and all good. Checkin service was very good, the instructions for using the adjacent car park clear and easy to follow. The room was comfortable and pleasant, only real moan would be the lack of instructions for the 'aircon' unit. Restaurant service was very good staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful. Would stay again if/when in the area.
Martin, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

It was clean but very dated and could do with an upgrade urgently. Good position.
Elaine, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The Quay hotel is ideally placed for access to parks, pubs, restaurants, sight-seeing and shopping, whether on foot or by car. The hotel is due for redevelopment in the next 2-3 years, so consequently is a bit "tired". The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Harbour view rooms are best. Breakfast is good, with reasonable choice. The staff are excellent. We have not used the restaurant for dinner as there are so many dining choices within a 10-15 minute walk.
Derek, 5-night trip

8/10 Very good

Bed was very small. Not overly clean especially in reception area and outside.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Even though low expectations to the facilities, we were surprised by the standards. Carpets in need of a thorough cleansing, damages on interior which could have been easily repaired. Short stay, so we didn’t meet a lot of staff. However the staff in the restaurant was a positive experience.

Surprisingly quiet hotel in the middle of Poole

First of all--finding it was a problem. I stopped and asked people. They did not know where Poole Quay hotel was ! PQH should have said that it was previously called the Thistle Hotel ! Quiet room. Did not try hotel restaurant as many on the Quay Service good
B, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Bath quite grubby

View was nice but the bath was really grubby and floor not cleaned properly. The breakfast we decided to have the first day was average. Scrambled eggs quite runny and we did think the plates they provided for the English breakfast were side plates lol obviously didn't want people filling them up too much.
Susan, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Property is very very dated, though clean. The window handles were covered in black mould. Light of the fridge in room kept us awake as did buzzing sound of fridge
bal, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

disappointed

Weekend away prior to the festive madness plenty to do in the area. the hotel itself looks tired whilst clean with one member of the team who booked us in a credit to the hotel team. unfortunately, the same could not be said about the bar team who decided to close the bar at 11-15 despite being residence and the best efforts of the night porter. we are both middle aged and not expecting a party !
