Upon arrival, we were initially excited by the look, feel, and location. It seemed like a great choice for our stay, especially given its proximity to the Royals game we were attending. However, everything quickly took a turn for the worse once we received our keys.
When we entered our first room assigned to us, we were shocked to find clothes lying on the ground and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. It was unclear whether the room was still occupied or had not been cleaned yet. We returned to the front desk and were promptly given a different room and an apology.
The second room seemed fine at first glance, given that we were in a rush to leave for the game. However, after our return and a closer inspection, we discovered several issues. While the room was clean, the TV, sink faucet, and bathroom ventilation all were not working. The smoke detector had been taken off the wall and was placed on a table with its battery sitting on top of it.
Given that it was around midnight when we returned to the room, we decided not to go back to the desk for, yet another room change and begrudgingly stayed for the night. In the morning, we reported these issues to the front desk staff during checkout. Unfortunately, their only response was that the problems were "noted," with no further apology or assurance of the issues being addressed.
I hope management addresses these concerns promptly for the sake of future guest.
