A local favourite inspired by British pubs

The Old City Bar is about a 10-minute walk from the Pula Arena. It was modelled after British pubs and its extensive menu of coffees, cocktails and beers attract many locals, especially on weekends. Various events take place at this quaint pub, including live music by local aspiring artists, quiz nights, and DJ sets.
When picking a seat at Old City Bar, opt for a table at its spacious terrace – you can enjoy views of the fountain at Dante Square. Unlike most pubs in Pula, it’s best to avoid sitting by the bar as servers may need the space for trays, which might disrupt you as you drink.

Gladiator nights at Pula Arena
Historical site by day, gladiator show by night

Gladiator nights (Spectacvla Antiqva) was established at the Pula Arena in 2014, featuring true gladiator fights with authentic weapons, Roman outfits, and replicas of body armour from ancient Roman times. It has since become an annual affair – it’s held every week from the end of June until early September. These fights, normally lasting 1.5 hours, are accompanied by a narrator. Tickets are available at the door of the Pula Arena.
After the fights, be sure to stick around for a walkthrough with your guide to see authentic Roman clothing and crafts. You can also participate in the various workshops available.

Pula Pub Crawl
The greatest way to meet tourists and locals

The Pula Pub Crawl gathers groups of like-minded party-goers for an evening of bar-hopping, often paired with drinking games and group activities that help set up the party mood. It's a great way for tourists to meet the locals and see how they party in Pula.
Meetups for tourists are at Forum Square in front of the Temple of Augustus. The local guides will lead the way to 3 different bars around town, before ending at a popular nightclub. Reservations are required. A 1-time payment to the guides includes welcome shots and bar or club entries.

Club Uljanik
Pula’s legendary club since the 1960s

Established in the 1960s, Club Uljanik is known by the locals as Pula’s legendary rock club. Located across the Uljanik Shipyard of Pula, it sees a year-round calendar of alternative bands, aspiring DJs, and themed party nights.
The club hosts student parties for younger party-seekers on Thursdays. At other time, it hosts Susret Generacija, a theme party suited for those over 35. Club Uljanik opens its outdoor terrace in the summer to better accommodate the locals and partying tourists.
