Great Ryokan. The property is beautiful and it's not far from the Kumamoto limousine bus stop (the hotel gives you rides to and from the stop anyway). Short walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and the main area of the town.
Top notch service and super clean. The outdoor onsen is incredible.

-Some of the decorations are a bit tacky
-You only get one bath towel during your stay. If you want an extra one you have to pay extra. This seemed...weird given the...
A very nice Ryokan with beautiful onsens on a small hill slope hidden away from the group of other busy ones. Rooms are clean and tidy.The boss and all staffs are very nice and whole heartily to help with every detail to make our stay a very wonderful one. We enjoyed very much and definitely will come back to Ryokan ichinoi when we visit Kurosawa in the future.
From the very start the staff was very nice, even though we weren't the best tourists. We stayed a short time, and in that tike the staff was friendly, despite our Faux Pas and were willing to help us with arranging luggage forwarding.
The room we booked was very clean and offered coffee, tea, and ice water in our rooms which we were free to use. The mats we slept on we comfortable and had plush blankets that almost kept us TOO warm during the cool Spring nights.

My mom and I absolutely loved our stay at Suikomareso! It is a beautiful home with so much attention to detail in the finishes that reflects the local craftsmanship. The host is friendly and helpful with plenty of great recommendations for things to see and do around Hita. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to the area!
First off let me preface this by saying that you have to be open minded. Some foreigners want to go to a place and have it be just like home but in another country. If you are looking for a western style hotel that has a happening nightlife and tons of bars and people around, then this is not the place for you. What a great experience! Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, and delicious food. The cats theme is charming and we loved being able to spend time with them. It was nice having a private onsen and since there are limited guests, we didn’t have to reserve and were able to bathe whenever we asked. I recommend staying more than one night, and wish the trip were longer. Thank you for the beautiful stay!
Wonderful ryokan stay at Yufuin Kutsurogi no Yado Nanakawa. The location is very convenient, close to Yufuin Floral Village, quaint shops, and many restaurants. We enjoyed the half-board stay, and the food was sumptuous and beautifully prepared. The room was peaceful and comfortable, with a relaxing private onsen. A perfect place to slow down and enjoy the charm of Yufuin.
Beautiful clean room, Onsen was great and so relaxing. Dinner was traditional Japanese and as good as I’ve EVER had. I would 100% recommend to anyone. We intend to return frequently.
The Still hotel is perfectly located in Ozo. Less than a minute walk to the Higo Ozy train station. You’ll find plenty of taxis and buses there as well. The hotel itself is relatively new, and is very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helps with whatever you need. The rooms are great, spacious bed, wet room and toilet room with bidet. Fresh linens, towels and pijamas every day even if you don’t have room service. A neat bag will be placed on your door including a bottle of water....
