Learn more about Assisi
Cobblestone streets lead to the magnificent Basilica of St. Francis, where Giotto's frescoes tell stories across medieval walls. Climb to Rocca Maggiore fortress for views that explain why St. Francis found divine inspiration in these rolling Umbrian hills. The Roman Temple of Minerva stands proudly in Piazza del Comune, a testament to the town's ancient roots. Duck into the Cathedral of San Rufino to admire its Romanesque façade before following Via San Francesco past shops selling local ceramics. The Basilica of Santa Chiara offers a quieter counterpoint to St. Francis' grandeur. After exploring San Damiano, where Francis received his calling, reward yourself with truffle pasta and robust local wine at a family-run trattoria.

Il Palazzo
"The hotel is 10 mins from the bus station, I didnt understand the landscape and how it impacts me with a medium size luggage, and walk from the bus stations. Apple or Google map doesn't give good direction how to get down from the bus stations which can be quite confusion which stations to stop to get to the hotel. Additionally the day I arrived was a Sat ie. 9/26, there was a mass meeting so taxis could not enter so I got confused with the bus stations to stop, called the hotel to help get a taxi which the man tried but no taxi available, i had to go to train station to get taxi then learned the taxi could not enter the main street so I had to pull my luggage up walking up hills for 10-15 mins. The hotel staff are all very nice, its a 3 star boutique hotel so breakfast spread is quite average, the room is large and clean; and has a good view out, The room and hotel is really quiet and peaceful in the morning and late evening. it becomes noisy in the whole town during day tie , as it is a very touristic spot in Assisi."
Portica 10
"Absolutely beautiful property in the heart of Assisi."
Hotel Fontebella
"We had a wonderful stay, they turned the air off on October first and it was way to warm I. The rooms to sleep. Servers in dinner restaurant were rude. Staff in hotel amazing."
TH Assisi - Hotel Cenacolo
"This location is just between The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi along a brick walkway between the two. “De Angeli” is a 15 minute walk flat and San Francesco is a 45 monitor walk all up hill. The hotel offers breakfast which you can book along with your reservation that is bountiful and includes eggs to order. Dinner is available with a reservation which can made the same day. We left the hotel early to drive to Roma and they had a box breakfast waiting for to take along on our drive. We stayed in a standard double bed room which was small but included a refrigerator, a bottle of water, a teapot, assorted teas, and shower gel, shampoo, and hand soap. The bed was European king with allergy pillows, but a hard mattress compared to American standards. The staff is very attentive, on duty 24/7, and accommodating. The parking lot is plentiful and free. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that will take you very near Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, and the Rocca Maggiore. If you end up at San Damiano, there is a bus that will take you back to San Francesco d’Assisi and The Eremo delle Carceri."
Hotel Ristorante La Terrazza

Breakfast buffet was ample and delicious. A terrific stay in a classic hotel convenient to everything in upper Assisi."
