The Bridge Inn

The Bridge Inn

10/10 Excellent
"Quirky old inn with loads of character. Room was comfortable with a huge bed. Restaurant serves simple bar meals but well cooked and good portions. Good selection of draught beers and a decent wine list. Breakfast was delicious apart from my Vegetarian Eggs Benedict (that's what it said on the menu but isn't it really Eggs Florentine?) which was overly salty. It seems the muffin had been sprinkled with salt before the spinach and poached eggs were put on. I had to leave most of the muffin and have toast instead. A pity because without the salt extravaganza it would have been perfect. I would have mentioned it if anyone had asked if everything was ok which is usual practice but didn't happen here. Small quibble but would return as everything else was enjoyable and the location is excellent."

"Amazing Victorian building situated in a great location only a 15 min walk into Keswick.Onsite free parking so no need to move your vehicle for the duration of your stay if you are there for the walks. Public transport passes also if needed. The rooms are clean, Bedroom has Tea/Coffee/ Biscuits. Bathroom we stayed in had bath, shower and products to use. Such lovely touches in this property, cosy lounge area’s to sit in with games, chess etc. One lounge area had an expresso machine , Water and fresh pieces of cake for anyone to help themselves too. Great breakfast for you to choose. The most friendly staff we have come across a perfect family business We have stayed in many places in the Lake District but this was by far the best. They deserve there five star reviews, We will return.."

The Allerdale Court Hotel

The Allerdale Court Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Really nice staff. Peter was especially helpful putting something I’d left on one side until I could return and pick it up. The hotel is pretty big running along several Georgian houses. The room was very large and very well modernised As a hotel they don’t serve breakfast but that’s not an issue as several nearby places do. It’s located on a lovely spot - probably the best area to see Cockermouth . I’d thoroughly recommend it"
