Hitaonsen Hananoki River Terrace
10/10 Excellent
"We opted to include the half board meals (dinner and breakfast) which was an excellent choice. Dinner was amazing with so many delightful Japanese dishes that were beautifully presented. We didn’t think we could finish it all but we managed! The hot spring included the large main bath, outdoor, bubble, waterfall, and the cold baths as well as two types of saunas. Playing table tennis in yukata was also fun. We are glad we stayed here."

"I and my wife have traveled many countries for last 30 years and stayed as many traditional residences. This Japanese traditional house is definitely the best one we have ever stayed. We recommend anybody visiting Ukiha, to have a chance staying here."

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than expected and very clean. Parking was convenient for additional fee"
SONIC Apartment Hotel

"No elevator from first floor so I couldn’t carry my luggage to 3rd floor. I left my luggage at my friend’s car. If you have huge stuff you better be aware of it.. Building is quite old but maintained clean and stuff is helpful. Location is nice."

"Awesome historic house with a lot of character and charm. Not too far from the railway station and had a good selection of restaurants, convenience stores and a grocery store not far away."
Toyoko Inn Nishitetsu Kurume Station
10/10 Excellent
"I stayed at this hotel expecting a simple and comfortable experience, which was mostly the case in terms of the room and overall cleanliness. However, the breakfast experience was very disappointing. During my stay, a large group (a youth baseball team) was using the breakfast area at the same time. The space became extremely crowded, with a long line forming, making it practically impossible for other guests to access the food. As a result, I was unable to have breakfast at all. I understand that group bookings are important for hotels, but there should be better management or some form of limitation or time allocation to prevent this kind of situation. Otherwise, it significantly impacts the experience of other guests. I hope the hotel can improve how they handle group guests during peak times."

"From the very start the staff was very nice, even though we weren't the best tourists. We stayed a short time, and in that tike the staff was friendly, despite our Faux Pas and were willing to help us with arranging luggage forwarding. The room we booked was very clean and offered coffee, tea, and ice water in our rooms which we were free to use. The mats we slept on we comfortable and had plush blankets that almost kept us TOO warm during the cool Spring nights. The Onsens though were the star of the show. We had two private Onsen attached to our room, one that was inside and one that was Open-Air. Both were incredible to be in and legitimately helped myself and my travel companion with aches and pains during the trip. I can't recommend this place enough. Must go Onsen if you find yourself in Hita."
