"Very hard bed. Sent us to the wrong room the first time. Staff seemed bothered that I insisted on getting what I paid for. Also didn’t receive the free bottle of wine I was supposed to get. I was hoping Radisson only sucked in the U.S. but I guess it’s universal."

"My stay at Holiday Inn was exceptional! The staff was amazing and friendly. The location was centrally located so I was able to get to where I needed to be with ease!"

"When I checked into my room, the sheets weren’t changed. There were stains on the sheet and pillow case. I’m not sure if it was because of poor washing or if left from a prior guest, but after a 16 hr flight, I don’t want to make a complaint within the first 5 minutes of being there. The manager was friendly and helpful - he switched out the sheets but I had to ask him to change everything - from pillow cases to the down sheet - eventhough it was clear the sheets may have been used. The room was nice and comfortable and the water ran perfectly hot. I slept comfortably. The downside to the room is location - you can hear the foot traffic and staff moving about too early in the morning. However, I slept well and disruptions weren’t major. Other than that, the location is great, with eating options up and down the street. The pool and rooftop weren’t available when I was there and this was not mentioned on the hotel page when I was booking."

"Beautiful hotel and convenient location with a lovely staff. I felt like I was at home. The hotels in a safe location so Everything is accessible by foot. The waterfront is a 10-15 minute walk but beware you’ll get deterred on your walk because there’s so much to see on the way. There are various restaurant options up and down the street and one of the best ice cream shops in Cape Town just a 5 minute walk. I wished I could have stayed longer there. The room was more of a cozy apartment. The room was spacious with working television and AC. It also had its own kitchen with skylight. You will have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the hotel. I did receive assistance to get the luggage’s out on my last day there. Additionally- EMPHASIS on the staff being kind! I had my flight leaving at 9 pm and although I couldn’t keep the room for several more hours before that, the staff kindly offered to hold on to my luggage’s while explored the city. I was even offered to use their general space for down time. I took them up on the luggage and spent a beautiful last day in CPT. I would say my only negative was getting a knock on my door by a staff to take pictures of her with a few others who were guests of the hotel. I thought that was very presumptive, given she would have to assume I’m not busy/sleeping, but also I’m a paying guest, and being disturbed for something like that was inappropriate. Overall, you can’t go completely wrong staying here."

"Overall, I was underwhelmed by my stay at this hotel, which is unfortunate because if not for my bad experiences with staff, I would stay here again. The cons: The staff at this hotel discriminates against their guest according to skin color. This is said not on the basis of 1 experience but several. As a young woman traveling alone, I shouldn't expect anything less than decorum from the male staff there and the receptionist. They offer preferential treatment to their white guests and disrespect single traveling women of color and strange because …. The staff are also people of color. Single women take caution at this hotel. I was disrespected twice by the front door staff. The shuttle driver would not let me on the shuttle after letting the white guests on because “I needed my name on the list” yet he had no idea if I was on the list or not. As I tried to get on, he’d dance around me to block me from entering. I was then told by one of them that “the hotel doesn’t let just anyone on the bus”. I was also looked at inappropriately by the doorman. The perks are that you are right next to a majestic beach, the restaurants inside the hotel offer you a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunset, the waiters and chefs and very kind. The food (esp. breakfast) is very good but the cost for breakfast was a rip-off. When I purchased my reservation, I was told breakfast would be $8 or about 120 rands at the time, when I went to breakfast, they charged me $18 or 300 rands instead. "
