Learn more about Idyllwild
High in the San Jacinto Mountains, this alpine retreat offers a refreshing escape from Southern California's coastal bustle. Tahquitz Peak and Suicide Rock draw serious climbers, while hikers can access the Pacific Crest Trail directly from town. The village center surprises with its thriving arts scene - galleries showcase local talent amid pine-scented air. After conquering trails at Idyllwild Park, refuel at family-owned cafes where locals debate nearby hiking routes. Mount San Jacinto State Park provides dramatic vistas that explain why this area remains largely undeveloped. Come evening, the Idyllwild Nature Center offers exceptional stargazing opportunities. Unlike many mountain towns, you won't find ski lifts here - just pure outdoor adventure and small-town authenticity.

Hotel Zoso
"I really enjoyed my stay. It was a very clean hotel. I love the pool area. Everyone helped & the setup was really nice"
The Dunes Hotel
"It was very clean and looked brand new. I know it was a renovated hotel, the only complaint I had is that the beds were very soft; perhaps they are buying new ones. The pool is lovely and had floats which was a nice touch. The handyman was actually repairing the misters when I was there. Loved the lobby decor, beautiful"
Idyllwild Inn
"We love staying at Idyllwild Inn with our small dog which is allowed in the cabins. We go at least once a year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We love Gastronome's restaurant for a fine dining experience and we can walk to it from the Idyllwild Inn. Also shopping and The Red Kettle restaurant are within walking distance."
Tahquitz Pines Retreat
"We ate in the Restaurant The Pines the food is so good , the cabin was clean. The bed was not comfortable for me and we found a little mouse in one of the bedrooms and the staff managed fast for the situation"
Hyatt Vacation Club at Desert Oasis
"Overall, we really loved the place. The amenities were nice and clean and well maintained. unfortunately, we had one negative experience with one of the visitors staying there. who treated us in a discriminatory and disrespectful way. What made it worse was that one of the employes acted the same way as the visitor. Employees should not agree with either side take information or walk away, instead he is telling us how to discipline. Other than that experience, we enjoyed our stay."
Palm Mountain Resort and Spa
"Nice hotel."
