Learn more about Capitola
Colorful Mediterranean-style buildings hug the shoreline in this pocket-sized beach town where surfers and families share the golden sands of Capitola Beach. The vibrant Village buzzes with seafood restaurants where locals debate which spot serves the freshest catch while gazing at Monterey Bay. Duck into quirky boutiques selling everything from handmade jewelry to vintage surfboards. New Brighton State Beach offers a quieter alternative when the main beach fills with sunbathers. The historic Capitola Wharf extends into the bay, providing perfect fishing spots and sunset views that explain why residents never seem in a hurry to be anywhere else. For more excitement, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk awaits just up the coast with its vintage roller coaster and carnival games.

Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley
"Staff was very caring and helpful!"
La Bahia Hotel and Spa
"Great snacks in room. Room service food was good. The drink at the bar didn't have much alcohol. Some others were obviously upset by the length of time and skill making their drinks. One thing that was annoying was after checkout they don't grant access to pool shower or bathroom. We wanted to rinse off after last day at beach. Also they don't rent out or provide umbrellas for beach. Other than that nice visit."
Ocean Pacific Lodge
"Nice place very convenient to the Boardwalk"
Marea Sol Hotel
"The room was clean and most of the property was also clean. The parking wasn't the best, and the roof lot was on the dirty side. This location is right across from the boardwalk."
Hyatt Place Santa Cruz
"Room is clean, however, discovered trash still inside from previous tenant. Hotel is nice and centrally located 15 min walk from Santa Cruz boardwalk. Staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent. Had noise issues with stomping all day and night but overall a good stay. Thin walls."
Inn at Depot Hill
"Amazing stay!"
Capitola Hotel
"Great property in a very convenient location for multiple activities in Capitola. Check-in was easy. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed during the week, so town was quiet. Service was excellent, especially Julie. I left my sunglasses in the room and she called me to confirm they were mine and then sent them to me. I received them quickly and they were packed with care. We were able to park right across the street with the parking pass from the hotel. We left our car there and walked everywhere, including to the Shadowbrook for dinner. We would definitely stay there again."
