Learn more about Orderville
Between the red rock majesty of Zion National Park and the hidden wonders of Peek-A-Boo Gulch lies this tiny town with an outsized history. Founded as a Mormon communal experiment, the streets still whisper tales of pioneer determination. Red Hollow Canyon offers hiking without the national park crowds, while Clear Creek Overlook rewards with panoramic vistas that explain why early settlers endured such isolation. The Rock Stop provides geological context for the surrounding wonderland of slot canyons and vermilion cliffs. After exploring, local diners serve hearty fare that hasn't changed much since wagon days. Bring cash for smaller establishments and arrive at Zion's East Entrance early to beat the crowds.

Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort
8/10 Good
"This is great if it’s just your base camp to explore Zion National park. If this is your sole destination, you’ll probably want more of a true resort. The facilities are kind of getting run down. There is a decent amount to do at the resort, but nothing you can’t do anywhere else (playground, pool, mini golf, ping pong table etc). The pictures of the pool are WAY better than it is in reality. The pool itself isn’t very warm at all. The hot tub felt gross. They frequently run out of pool towels. The milkshakes are $17 each, which I think is criminal. It just didn’t feel like a true resort. It felt like a glorified camping ground facility. Luckily we had a kitchen and showers in our tiny home, because the public showers by the pool are disgusting. Fun place to go, but will only go back to be my base camp for exploring Zion."
Petty Ranch Inn
10/10 Excellent
"A truly fantastic place. Clean, beautifully designed with modern amenities in a charming mountain town. My favorite thing was lounging in the jacuzzi, after a day of hiking, surrounded by a gorgeous mountain view"
Hotel De Novo Springdale, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"I really enjoy using the pool and spa. However, since they don’t open until 8:00 a.m., I wasn’t able to enjoy the spa around sunrise. Also, closing at 10:00 p.m. felt a little too early. I think it would be much better if the spa opened one hour earlier, at 7:00 a.m., and closed one hour later, at 11:00 p.m."
