Top neighborhoods in Mountain View

Old Mountain View
Old Mountain View blends Silicon Valley charm with historic character along tree-lined streets filled with Craftsman bungalows and Victorian homes. Castro Street buzzes with independent bookstores, diverse eateries, and a weekly farmers market where locals swap stories over fresh produce. The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts anchors the cultural scene while neighborhood parks offer peaceful green spaces. Dining options range from Vietnamese pho to farm-to-table bistros, all within walking distance of this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. The nearby Mountain View Caltrain station connects you to the wider Bay Area, making car-free exploration a breeze. Most visitors stay in nearby hotels since lodging within the neighborhood is limited to occasional bed and breakfasts.
Cuesta Park
Cuesta Park's tree-lined streets and family-friendly atmosphere make this Mountain View neighborhood feel like a genuine California suburb. Tennis enthusiasts can enjoy matches at the Cuesta Park Tennis Center while kids climb on colorful playground equipment. The expansive green spaces with mature oak trees provide perfect spots for picnics and lazy afternoon strolls away from Silicon Valley's tech bustle. You'll need wheels to explore beyond this residential haven, as public transit is limited. Dining options are sparse within the neighborhood itself, so plan to drive to nearby Castro Street for restaurants. Accommodation consists mainly of home rentals that offer a quiet retreat with gardens and suburban comforts.

Shoreline West
Shoreline West invites you to experience authentic Silicon Valley living in a peaceful suburban setting. Tree-lined streets and well-maintained homes create a perfect retreat from tech campus hustle. While the neighborhood itself offers few attractions, you're just minutes from Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts and the scenic Stevens Creek Trail. Klein Park provides a lovely spot for afternoon relaxation. Getting around is a breeze with excellent Caltrain access connecting you to San Francisco and San Jose. Most visitors head to nearby downtown Mountain View for diverse dining options. Vacation rentals in residential homes offer a genuine glimpse into local family life, complete with quiet evenings and morning birdsong.

Hampton Inn & Suites Mountain View
"Karen, at the front desk, was thoughtful to check that the room was to our liking. My husband split some ice in the hallway. I told Karen and she sent someone asap to clean up and dry the area. We felt bad, but glad to see that they keep the property up to date. Parking was good. Location is good. Pillows were a little soft. It was an excellent stay."

Aloft by Marriott Mountain View
"The hotel was clean. The staff were really friendly and helped us out with transportation, information, and things to do around town. We did not go to the bar or do the breakfast, since we were there for a concert. I would highly recommend this place."
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mountain View
"Good clean property near Shoreline Amphitheater"
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mountain View Silicon Valley by IHG
"I chose this location because of the distance to the Shoreline Amphitheater. We were pleasantly surprised how clean the property was, and it was a great location to our concert venue. The young gentleman who checked us in was very professional and sweet. The parking was also super easy!"
Holiday Inn Express Mountain View - S Palo Alto by IHG
"The room I was given the TV did not work notified the front desk. The manager moved us to a room without any problems. I stayed here before before it changed. It was the best western a couple years ago and the renovations and the staff are amazing close to a venue that I love to attend. We’ll be staying there again."
Ramada by Wyndham Mountain View
"All was well"
Extended Stay America Suites San Jose Mountain View
"The staff was very helpful. The hotel was very clean and spacious. Our door did not lock very easily. We had to slam our door over and over again so that it would catch. I told the staff about the problem and they said they would look into it. Parking was easy. Air conditioning worked well. It’s close to a freeway, so it can be loud if u keep the windows open.
