My wife and I recently stayed at the Bedford Inn and we were more than impressed. Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by the owner, "Archie" and he spent close to a half an hour giving us a tour of the property and explaining the policies and ammenities. After which he stayed to answer all of our questions regarding the surrounding area, being it was our first overnight stay in Cape May. From the common areas to the room, to the food, everything was first class. We plan to go back as soon...
EXELLENT from peanut ( the bird in the lobby ) the staff in the front tom in concierge mary at the front desk and everyone else at the hotel a great and friendly place to stay !!!
Everything was excellent! The only concern was that there was often too much noise in the hallways at night and that should’ve been controlled by staff.
This is the 2nd time we have statyed at this property in the last 12 months and we love it. It’s one of a few places that has two queen beds so that’s always a plus for us. The property itself is beautiful and the rooms are roomy and feel very airy. We had a room with the balcony and used it for morning coffee. It’s also nice there is a microwave, mini fridge, plates, cups etc.
The location is not right in town but you are right across the st from the beach and they provide a free shuttle around...
I love this hotel it is nice and clean. I have nothing negative to say. The employees are respectful and kind. My room was clean and we enjoyed our stay. We will be back again hopefully in September before the summer ends.
This property is outstanding for two basic reasons: location---the beachfront views are unbeatable (the ground floors may not have a view, it should be noted). Also, the staff were phenomenal. It seems that they are especially trained to be personable, interested, and thoughtful. Truly impressive 5 star quality of service.
The only thing that is unfortunate are our friends who require elevators. The hotel doesn't have elevators for the rooms with great views.
Love the pools that there are two of them one in one out I like the fact that you could order food from the restaurant there cause it was really good. I like the fact that it was across the street from the beach and that the location was excellent.

I was looking for a two day peaceful getaway and the Virginia Hotel was perfect. Located in the center of town, we were able to walk everywhere, enjoy a fabulour dinner at the hotel and ending the evening sitting on the porch reflecting on a perfect day.
I feel like we really lucked out with this stay. Planned only 2 weeks prior, we booked accommodations last minute and took a chance on Avondale. It was perfect! Right on Beach Ave. in Cape May, we had view of the ocean from our balcony area. Upon booking, I received a call within 30 minutes from Avondale to confirm our stay and to ask us if we were OK with with walking up the stairs to 2nd or 3rd floor as there is no elevator. Not a problem for us and the 2nd floor facing the beach was perfect....

The only person who was no good with me was woman (Black woman and short curly hair) I called before I make the reservation because I have my Service Dog for my Epilepsy, the person who answered the phone said I could bring my dog there; and that girl into the reception my last day there was so...
