The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. La Neige is a great hotel, the staff is perfect, I want to come back, the premises are beautiful, so elegant, and at a good price, there’s no onsen, but no problem, there are options a few minutes away, and the hotel have an excellent transportation service.

My husband and I stayed 1 night at this hotel. The check-in was simple and the staff was friendly and helpful. We speak very little Japanese and there was no problem. We were offered the opportunity to change our room, but declined and stayed in the standard double room. This room is very small but was okay for us for one night. 2 minute walk to Matsumoto Station! Super convenient. The room was nice and comfortable. The staff was helpful and they provide travel items in the lobby if you need it. The only issue is that the shower curtain had mold. Otherwise the room was good.
We loved our stay at the Hakuba Marriott! It had a great gym, the in room onsen was perfect after a day on the slopes and the staff were so friendly. It was walkable to the main drag and provides a shuttle to the ski resorts right out front. It was nice to come back and enjoy a drink at the bar after dinner. We cannot wait to stay here again!
As you walk up, how small the building is stands out, as is how the beat up the exterior looke, but once you walk into the lobby, you realize everything is going to be okay.
Not only does everything look nice and clean, but even the smell is great. Staff makes check in great, and then when you get to the room, you once again are greated by a clean smell, something close to baby powder.
