We stayed 1 night after the golden week so it was nice and quiet. Everything was wonderful except the dinner buffet was a little disappointment. I stayed a few years ago and also had the dinner buffet and i recall it was better.
After travelling Japan for 3 weeks this was the best accommodation we have had. We really appreciated having a microwave, full size fridge and little kitchenette but the thing we appreciated the most was THE WASHING MACHINE & DRYER! It was so good to be able to do some washing
The checkin process was super simple. They have a tablet in the unit that you use to communicate to their agents. The agents spoke English which made everything that much easier. They answer the tablet everytime and quickly.
Wish they had a bathroom upstairs.
It was an interesting design of room. But we had a natuural hotspring onsen CEDAR tub in room. So refreshing to soak in it. Great japanese dinner and breakfast included.
It was my first time checking into a hotel without staff on site. The hotel will send you an email with an entry code to get into the lobby. Once inside, there's a tablet you use to check in. After you snap a photo of your passport, you get connected to the hotel staff via video call to verify your identity. Then you will get your room code on the screen. Take a picture of your room code with your phone. The hotel is very roomy and very close to the station.
The Hamilton is a unique fusion of British Stately Home turned Inn, and Japanese hot spring spa. It sits on the steep side of a hill, making the entry challenging for those with mobility limitations. Once inside, however, the building is fitted with ramps and an elevator.
Staff are alert for arrivals, come to the parking lot to help position the car and bring your luggage inside. Check-in takes place seated in elegant chairs in the parlour, with a choice of juice or sparkling wine to refresh...
Excellent breakfast buffet. Mostly Japanese home-cooked items but some continental breakfast items (fried eggs/breads) are also available.
Spa was spacious and clean. Pajamas (size large) were supplied. Walkable from the nearby Imari station, and ample parking if driving.
During the peak check-in time, there was an English-speaking staff. Staff was always warm, courteous and helpful.
