The hotel is an amazing property. Unique and fitting for the cave-town experience. High end with an underground pool. Highly recommend for the experience! Just fyi there are a lot of stairs to get to the lobby/checkin and rooms. And there aren’t bellhops to help with luggage. The entry is hidden so be sure to get clear instructions ahead of time.

We had an amazing stay at the Cenobio Hotel! It can be a bit tricky to find if it's your first time in Matera, and you can't drive directly to the hotel. Plus, there are some steps to navigate both downhill and uphill. Knowing this from other reviews, we contacted the hotel before our arrival. They arranged a shuttle from the car park, which made things super easy for us. I highly recommend doing this if you're planning to stay here. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, making us feel...

This place is a jewel in Altamura! Rooms are brand new with everything you might need and spacious. They have an AMAZING SPA. We booked it for an hour and 15 minutes and cannot say enough good things about it. You are by yourself and they have sauna, steam, jacuzzi and more. The showers of hot and cold water are u ique. Strongly recommend this place!

The room and bed were very comfortable. This was a return visit and I will definitely book again. Breakfast is great and the staff go above and beyond.

We loved Vetera Matera. As one would expect from a Relais & Chateaux property, the stay was top notch. The rooms are very comfy, integrated into caves. The communal areas, including the comfortable courtyards and outdoor lounges, were beautifully decorated. Food service was very good, with a special shout out to the remarkable pickled immature peaches. I could eat those all day. From the moment our shuttle picked us up from the parking garage until we were returned, Cetera Matera made our stay...

The Antico hotel is lovely. The rooms were comfortable and well designed. The staff was exceptionally helpful as I am traveling alone needed guidance. The breakfast was very good
I used the spa and could relax for an hour
I had great difficulty finding the hotel and needed help to locate and bring suitcases over difficult paths. Perhaps the hotel could send information to guests about the difficulty to be reached. On leaving the staff made arrangements to carry suitcases to a taxi

The staff was so nice and friendly (even tho we spoke no Italian). The room was very large and clean, the AC worked well and the area was easily walkable with incredible views just outside your door. Very great access to hiking and town options.

La Dimora di Metello has only been open for 6 months, but I think it has a long and successful run ahead of it. This is a world-class hotel in arguably the most interesting small city in the world. The proprietor, Elisabetta, is elegant and charming and could not have been more helpful, making recommendations and reservations for meals and offering her availability to her guests at any time., The place itself is spotless and of fine italian high design, which is a wonderful contrast to the...
