OUTSTANDING! This was a perfect place for our stay in Ecuador. We were interested in educating ourselves more about the Ecuadorian culture, the environment, the lifestyle and the future of this community. Carlos and Doreen are wonderful hosts, (they both speak English and Spanish) but they also are educators for their guests and their community. This hacienda has great character and is a fine example of the people and culture of Ecuador. This place is no Ritz, but that was exactly why I liked it. It's rustic and original, not genuine-imitation like most Americans are used to. The floors creaked, the bed creaked, the bathrooms are spartan but spotlessly clean. The grounds and gardens were naturally beautiful, and the pool area looked inviting, although my schedule didn't allow for that indulgence. I'm planning on that for my next visit.

Close to the market an easy walk. The owner was really great and the outside really misleading...a sauna and cold pool for after, a nice hot tub, and the big surprise an indoor pool. VERY CLEAN and well managed. Very personal service better than a big hotel and breakfast cooked for you individually. My best stop in Ecudador for the value.They do not yet take credit cards so have cash...this was a great value and I will stay again when I return to Otavalo....really a good experience!!!!

Mi primera vez en Ecuador y me alegró haber escogido éste lugar como destino por 2 noches. El lugar es impresionante de hermoso y con ambiente familiar. Lo que más hizo del lugar uno perfecto fué su personal, súper amables, atentos y la comida riquísima. El detalle que me cautivó fué su disposición Sus animales, los perros y el gato súper cariñosos. Me encantó la experiencia y volvería a quedarne muchas veces más. Muy recomendado!
