"A very idiosyncratic hotel - you'll either love it or hate it! We had a suite, which was very grand and spacious, but was showing its age. The evening meal was outstanding - David the Chef / part owner is excellent. Few others eating there, though, so a bit lacking atmosphere. "

"Lovely Inn in a quiet village. Our stay was even quieter due to the Horse Fair in Appleby meaning the Inn was only open to residents. The inn clearly loves having dogs to stay so if you don’t like that, think carefully. Food was well prepared and the homemade steak pie was definitely on the large side! Bedroom was comfortable with all modern facilities."
