"Beautiful place to stay. Phillip and his mom (and the whole staff) go out of their way to make you comfortable. We were in a room with the view of a lifetime! Homecooked meals for dinner, and the breakfast had fresh bread brought from the local bakery which was the best we had in Portugal. Pool was so refreshing, we were there during a heatwave. Air-conditioning in the room worked well. Bed was comfortable."

We even had a little tour of the old house which is dating back 19 generations of the family. We booked on the day while touring the area. The rooms are brand new , inside old barns and buildings. "The site is amazing, with the hotel's buildings scattered artfully across a number of terraces that traverse the steep hillside. Our room was spacious and comfortable and even had a lovely balcony facing the Douro. The big pool was gorgeous and a delight to swim in.
