"We stayed in Saas Fee for two nights as part of a trip around Europe, which took us from the UK to housesitting at a friend in Genoa. The Waldhotel Fletschhorn was an undoubted highlight of the trip The setting is just stunning. Saas Fee itself was a revelation, with the glacier looming above it, but the journey to the hotel, in the little electric buggy with it’s very friendly Italian driver, was an amazing further introduction for ourselves and our children. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier throughout our stay, showing a personal interest (our son received exam results while we were there for example) . The food was magnificent. We ate in the restaurant one night and had breakfast both days. It’s not cheap (this is an exclusive part of Switzerland after all) but it was pretty sensational. The free access to the ski lifts, which comes as part of the hotel price during the summer, was a very pleasant surprise. We took full advantage. All in all we would fully recommend the hotel both as a romantic getaway but also as a place for (well behaved) children."

"Usually at five-star properties, especially in desirable locations, the cost scales up much faster than what you get. The Capra is an exceptional property: wonderful location, facilities, and service at a very fair price. All the staff are friendly and welcoming; the breakfast is a la carte, but substantial and served quickly; and the common spaces are a great place to be stuck indoors when it rains. The goodie bag at departure is a small touch, but really drives home the property’s commitment to guest experience."

"This is an amazing hotel. Great room friendly owners and workers, amazing location. The breakfast is really good. They even accommodate making fresh eggs and a vegetarian omelette. They let us pick nick in the front garden and even gave a free ride to the bus stop. I would go back 100 times."
