"I checked in to a room and within an hour, another guest walked into my room with card access. When I addressed this with staff, they blamed the previous guest for not turning in their key when they requested a room change. I was told their policy was the guest would leave their key in the room when they leave which I find to not be appropriate since they more placed responsibility on the previous guest. There are several opportunities in which the key can be deactivated including when I actually check into the room. I felt blaming the other guest of this mistake and placing responsibility on the previous guest was unprofessional with a lack of care regarding guest safety and I strongly recommend a change in protocol."

"The major issue we had was the TV could not stay connected to the wifi so it went in and out constantly while watching a show. I told the property and they simply apologized. It was quite frustrating at night when you wanted to relax and watch a show/movie. The breakfast was very good, the staff was really nice. The only other thing is that I went to buy a soda from the market through self serve and soda I wanted had no bar code in the system so I had to wait for front desk staff after all and the 20oz sodas were $5.00 each! That is ridiculous."

"Well I arrived at 2:02, my fault 52 minutes before check in at 3, they tried to add 27.50 to my bill. So I stood around, no one else checked in in the 58 minutes and the staff just sat and played with the phone. I was given a room on the highway and may have been the loudest room I have ever slept in at a hotel. The smell of marijuana filled the fifth floor hall. The rooms TV could not be turned off and needed to have the remote reset...the staff two different men could not do anything. I had to unplug the tv and its one station, this looks as if it has been an ongoing problem as the tv was unplugged when I got there. I did not stay for breakfast and the long term housing guests did not seem problematic. My room was older and dated and clean. I stay in many budget hotels and do not complain often, I was very unhappy here."

"This is a budget hotel and fits the bill for a one or 2 night stay. No frills. Good bar and grill right next to the property. It is clean and safe for a short stay"

"This is a great little gem of a hotel in Salem, nothing fancy, but is exceptionally clean, with friendly staff, quiet surroundings, and access to lots of amenities. I stay here periodically when I am in town for work, and I always feel really happy that I did."

"The remodel proved an improvement to Mills Falls. I stayed at Chase house this time around. And was not disappointed. The new mattress, pillows and towels were fantastic. I also loved their new line of toiletries. The building is quiet (but I did stay here in the off season)… and I appreciated the hotels amenities. We visited the Spa and pool at Church Landing (same business-but on the other sidebar the street). All of our treatments were relaxing and enjoyable. As was the spa locker room/ relax area. The spa was more expensive than spas back home in NY. But I guess when you are on a a- that’s the price you pay. Overall, I always enjoy my stays here. And this time around, I appreciated the upgraded towels and bedding."
