"The staff was very friendly and loved the free coffee in the lobby. The coffeemaker in the room didn't work out as there was no outlet available. The lobby, halls, and room were all very clean. There was an odd ledge to the bathroom we covered with a towel to avoid any trips. If they sanded this down or just made an actual step, it would have been better. Loved the location of the hotel.Walkable to anything by Grant Park. Easy to get to from Midway. Only major downside are the walls are thin. Getting ready in the morning, I can hear the person in the bathroom next to me singing in the shower. One of the nights two doors down, the guests were being pretty boastful and we could hear their entire conversations. My room did face the street/park so on a Saturday night, it was lovely. I personally did not mind the street noise, just didn't care to listen to my neighbors conversation at 930PM. Overall, the location, friendly staff, and price, I'd still recommend. 8 out of 10!"

"Clean room and the views from the river view were beautiful. There is a destination fee plus no parking:only valet. Wish we knew this ahead of time to plan ahead. Beautiful hotel though. Clean beds and bathrooms "

"Great location, easy access to plenty of restaurants and sites. Disappointed with staff's inability to process check in and response of night manager after waiting 20 minutes for staff to find our reservation. Night manager basically ignored our request for assistance. "

"Hotel was in a great location and staff were nice. Nor many amenities were offered though. They had no bottled water to buy, no area to buy snacks or items you might need (ibuprofen, toothbrush, tampons). Rooms were clean but art decor was cheap and tacky. No decaf coffee in the rooms, no guide on the tv remotes. "

"It’s an old hotel. It needs a quality paint job and new carpets in the hallways among many other things. But the lake view rooms makes up for a lot of what’s missing."

"The property was well kept and in a good location. My experience with a few different front desk staff was a little disappointing. They had little customer service skills when lines were long and no valet attendee working. They were short with customers and at time very rude. I called ahead to have my car pulled around and was told 10 minutes. I waited and proceeded to valet. After waiting an additional 15 minutes in line, we were told the valet was on break and they didn't know when he would return."

"We had an amazing three days in downtown Chicago and the Palmer House. Hilton was at the center of everything. We got to see Hamilton, which is literally right across the street from the Palmer house and garage parking was conveniently located across the street on Wabash. I booked it through SpotHero, three days ran us about $60. The hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are immaculate. We had a fantastic time. Oh!!! And they have a spa!! Facials were perfection and the pool was refreshing after a long day of walking "
