"I really liked this little budget hotel. It is in a fantastic location in Kolkata within walking distance of all kinds of coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. Staff are friendly and courteous. They have a cute little cafe attached to the hotel that had great food and was always busy. All day breakfast plates were especially good. It is basic, but clean. Great value for money! Would definitely stay here again. "

"We’re cyclists from Australia and have been travelling around the world on our bikes for 5 years. We received a wonderful welcome by the staff and everyone couldn’t do enough for us. The room was comfortable, the hotel itself had a great feel about it making us feel at home. The gym and spa were fantastic. The food was superb and so were all the wait staff. "LaLiT is a historic building, near the colonial seat of power when Calcutta was the capital of the British Raj. The traffic around the hotel is chaotic, not to mention crowded. But the staff were wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and will stay there again when we are next in Kolkata."

"The hotel was wonderful. I was a solo traveler and felt very safe here. The concierge Amit seemed to be looking out for me. He was very helpful in everyway. I was able to walk to India Museum from this hotel as well as Saint John's Church for the Black hole of Kolkata memorial. The breakfast in the morning was very nice, although the staff did seem to have a hard time keeping everything fully stocked. I would definitely stay again."

"While convenient for access to the city, the immediate area is not particularly pleasant. However, the hotel, while it provides all that is needed, is a little 'tired' as to its decor. But, the in-house 'pure veg' restaurant and bar is excellent, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are charming, friendly and efficient. It may not be 5* but gets an A from me. "
