This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The photos do not do the hotel justice. The staff were very friendly, we slept in so we couldn't experience the breakfast but the room restaurant looked inviting. The air-conditioning worked very well for the August weather. A very comfortable stay!
Has a connected suite that was basically two separate rooms linked together. Awesome. Breakfast decent too. Near train station and near tram and walking distance to city castle. Perfect location. Though bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you don't like their soap+shampoo all in one lotion.
We had a wonderful 3 day stay in August. The staff is excellent -- friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. They gave us great information, including directing us to a store where we could get a replacement for an adapter we had left at home! The location is superb: right in the center of town, maybe 5 minutes from the major tourist sights -- and don't miss the Abbaye aux Hommes (from 1066 -- and William the Conqueror is buried there), a couple of minutes from restaurants, and a quick cab ride to...
Exit train station doors and look across the street - Voila, Hotel La Consigne! Perfect location for me and my daughter arriving late in the evening. Last thing you want to do is have to look for your hotel in a strange city at night. We notified the staff in advance that we were arriving late from Bordeaux due to the train strike in France and they kindly waited up for us to give us our keys. The next two mornings we enjoyed the simple but tasty continental breakfast provided by the hotel...
