Avoid at all costs
I'm not one to usually leave reviews but after this experience I felt I had to warn people.
I'd planned this trip to Venice to propose to my partner. The photos of this place looked great, so I was gutted when we arrived to find the reality was completely different.
We were put in a ground floor room with manhole covers in the bedroom floor that weren't properly sealed. Every time someone in the building flushed a toilet, you could hear it and smell it too. Not exactly the atmosphere you're hoping for on one of the most important nights of your life.
We told the owner straight away. There was another room free on a higher floor (we could see it sitting empty on Hotels.com) so moving us seemed like the obvious solution. Instead, they sent someone round to silicone over the manhole cover. Silicone takes around 24 hours to cure, smells strongly of vinegar, and can irritate your chest and lungs. So we went from the smell of sewage to the smell of chemicals, with the added worry of breathing in fumes all night.
The rest of the room wasn't much better, broken shower pipe, black mould in the bathroom, and a TV barely hanging on the wall. We genuinely couldn't see how this room was fit for guests.
In the end we had no choice but to leave. The owner refused to give us a refund, and after going through Hotels.com we were offered platform credit rather than our money back.
The owner had every chance to do the right thing and chose not to. Steer clear.
