When you check in, instead of requesting card pre-authorisation for deposit, they ask to fill in a form requesting name, 16 digit card number, security code at the back of your card, expiry date, full home address. Literally everything you would need to make a payment with your card online. I challenged the receptionist for this but she couldn't care less and told me either i provide it or i can leave. Before pandemic i used to travel every week for work and stayed in hotels all around the world but i have never seen any hotel that request full card details. I couldn't relax all night worrying what could happen. It looked like it wasn't judt me who was worried as i saw multiple people at the receptiom who was not happy with their 'company policy'. When i checked out, i asked the morning receptionist if i can have the form back so i know they don't have it anymore. She was very rude and told me that it's fine because they do not use it (with annoyed tone). I couldn't just leave it there so i asked it to back again, she then just took out the form and shreded it in front of me ignoring my request.
The room itself was nicely decorated but toilet stank of old pipe/urine smell. View was nice.
Requested menu for breakfast before i book it but the staff said 'you get english breakfast or cereal if you pay £10.50' so i decided to go to local cafe for nice brunch instead which was cheaper!
I will not return to this hotel
