We booked a last minute stay at this hotel, the staff here are warm and friendly and a credit to the hotel, our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and had the advantage of a spa bath in the en-suite bathroom. The downside was the two flights of very steep stairs to negotiate to get to the room( not a problem for myself and my daughter) but I can imagine it being quite a challenge for some, especially if you have heavy luggage with you so I would recommend that if booking here you make sure that any room allocated to you is accessible for your own personal needs.
Breakfast is a cooked offering which has to be ordered the night before, there is NO orange juice, cereal, fruit or other extras that are usually on offer at other hotels we have stayed. The full English we ordered was quite small but it was tasty and well cooked (with a perfect poached egg) the staff were happy to bring us more toast when we asked.
Following our stay the only negatives that we would like to mention are :
The hot water wasn’t hot ! after one shower it ran out !
There was a very strong smell of weed on the landing outside of our room which penetrated into our room ( presumably from another guest ) but with no staff available on site after 10pm this wouldn’t have been noticed or addressed by the establishment.
Finally, the tea/coffee making facilities are on a very low table in the room we stayed in, which made preparing drinks both tricky and messy without kneeling on the floor to do so.
