Arranged a late check in of 1am due to being at a wedding on day of check in. Arrived, and was sent to a room which had not been cleaned - bed was made, but there were cans and glasses, dirty toilet, stain on wall and spillages. Went down to let reception know - they said they could check if they had another room but would come and clear the glasses. Moved to another room at the time; the only option at the time as we just wanted to go to bed having been out all day.
Other couple we were travelling with had used sanitary towels in their bin, which had not been emptied.
Next morning, they let us know that they would not be charging us extra for the upgrade. Emailed manager later, who said as we accepted the room upgrade and they discounted our stay by £10 that they wouldn’t be providing a refund.
