Kind of a bittersweet situation. Hotel is great and the location is perfect. We had an issue with the housekeeper, as we prepared the room and left the door sign indicating we wanted it serviced, however nothing was done. When I contacted the front staff, they showed me the report where the housekeeper says the sign was set to do not disturb, but that is not true. The front staff insisted it was my fault as I explicitly indicated I did not want to be disturbed, when the sign was not even outside the door. Anyways, I phoned the reception and requested towels as we needed to shower and leave for dinner, and was told a housekeeper would bring some immediately. Over 30 minutes later no one had showed up, so I went downstairs and it appears the employee I spoke with forgot to request the towels....
To make matters worse, we have status with the booking agency and were offered a bootle of wine at the time of booking, however hotel refused to honour this and couldn't care less.
Kind of unfortunate to make such a bad impression to a guest, given that the hotel itself is pretty good.
