Perfect location for sightseeing, it was close to transportation (Ferries etc.) and a lot of great dining options. I found the staff welcoming and very helpful from arrival to departure. Also, the breakfast which is served at the attached restaurant was excellent with an array of options. I would definately stay at this hotel again.

This property is on a walking street. It's super cute and super convenient to all that Valletta has to offer. That said, I booked a room with two beds. Because the hotel did not get the reservation correct, I was not able to check in for an additional hour--highly annoying.

Amazing stay!

Amazing small hotell in central Valetta. Large room, quiet and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff! Breakfast ordered from the restaurants menu, included in our stay. Always tasty, fresh food/coffee and with very friendly and attentive servers. We were 2 adults and 1 teenager in the suite, with sofabed upstairs. Perfect solution for us instead of 2 rooms. Can definitely recommend!

Center location with cafes, shops and views of the bay right outside the door. Easy walk to all major attractions in town. Hotel staff are very friendly, especially manager Cole who gave us many good restaurant recommendations. Our junior suite is well appointed and very quiet. The hotel has a very good restaurant too and portions are ample. Breakfast comes with many tasty choices but service pace is a bit slow. If you are in a hurry in the morning,stick with simple baking goods.

Absolutely recommend it

Best location possible. Close to all main attraction, public transport, cafes and restaurants. The room was clean, comfortable and big. It seemed renovated not long ago and had everything we needed, even slippers and iron and iron board which I am not that used to any more unfortunately. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The electronic equipment was new and the interior design was pleasant. We were not bothered by noise despite our central location. Breakfast was good. Every staff we encountered regardless position and responsibilities were polite, professional, attantive and very helpful. We felt welcome and comfortable. Definately recommend and would not even bother looking for another hotel should I have the pleasure to visit Valletta again :)

Spacious room with comfortable bed. The bathroom was compact and would have benefited from being larger. Noise could be heard in the room late evening and early morning which impeded a good night's sleep. The room needed some tlc - the deadlock on the room door didn't work, being misaligned with the frame. There was some cosmetic damage to the internal walls which looked bad but would have been relatively easy to repair. Also, found ants on the floor on several occasions. Overall the hotel was sold as 5 star but felt 4 star at best.

The location of the Cumberland was really amazing. Right in the middle of the action of Valletta with close access to many restaurants, attractions like St.John’s Cathedral, Upper Barrakka Gardens, the famous St.Lucia street for alfresco dining, the waterfront & museums. SPAR the grocery store was just down the same street - which enabled us to get snacks, water, etc. We enjoyed staying in our suite with an upper loft portion. The main bus terminal is also a doable walk of about 10 minutes for bus access to Mdina. Both ferry terminals to Sliema & the 3 Cities were also within reasonable walking distance. We definitely would recommend a stay here if you are looking for a boutique style hotel centrally located.

Well done Hotel Cumberland!

We had an excellent stay at the Cumberland Hotel and found it offered high standards in all areas, including reception, room cleanliness and facilities, and a varied and delicious breakfast. We found all the staff to be extremely welcoming and friendly and were highly impressed by the speed in which a problem with a loose tap in our bathroom was dealt with. The hotel is located in a very central location in the beautiful city of Valletta and we really miss hearing the bells of St John's Cathedral close by. Our only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of sun parasols for seating on the roof terrace as the high temperatures prevented any possibility of relaxing there for more than a few minutes. An all round most enjoyable stay though.

The room is clean and spacious but no natural light, window facing the corridor and people can clearly see you! Shat tis been mentioned at the time of booking it wouldn't be as bad but no mention at all.
