Booked on the hotels.com website at short notice. Hotel info states "Reception 24/7" ...... it is not. Reception was a small serving hatch, no staff present, no phone, no info, nothing. I found a number on hotels.com app, a female answered and said I should have received an email with a link to book in and a code for a room key box. She stated "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" ..... helpful! Eventually received an email with a link to book in and managed to get the key box code, it all took about 20 minutes.
The hotel is very basic (in fact very very basic). We were allocated room 14. The room was clean and had two beds. One was trying to be a double and failing badly, it was so small we couldn't turn over without hitting each other. I measured it with my phone charging cable. When I got home I discovered it was 46 inches wide, standard width for a double bed? ... 54 inches.
Room 14 is on the first floor. Below our windows was a loud heating exhaust that activated every 15 minutes or so, we closed the windows, it didnt help. We thought we'd watch the TV but there was no remote. We managed to turn it on and change channels etc manually, at 6 O'Clock in the morning it turned itself on!
I emailed the manager with all this info and have received no acknowledgement.
I suspect there is some creative writing of other reviews. We booked two nights, we stayed for one. Would we stay again? .....never.
