When we arrived, the first impression was a rather unappealing and unclean “pool” that didn’t feel inviting to use. The staff member who greeted us was friendly, but communication was quite difficult since he only spoke French. We tried using Google Translate, which helped a little, but it wasn’t enough to have a proper conversation.
From the first to the last night, it was a disaster. We were given a room with a window facing the street, and we could hear everything – cars, mopeds, horses, people – going on non-stop until around 2 AM. We complained in the morning, but they wouldn’t let us change rooms even though we were the only guests at the hotel.
I also contacted Hotels.com to try and get a refund so we could book another hotel, but nothing came of it since the hotel manager didn’t answer the phone and the support staff couldn’t help.
I later noticed a small wooden window inside our bathroom that led directly to the staircase used by all guests – meaning people could hear everything happening in the bathroom if they walked past, which didn’t feel very pleasant or private.
