very central location. We used it for a base prior to the start of an event in Clarens the next day. Excellent Italian restaurant down stairs. So perfect for a work trip.

Perfect Location

Location was great - right on the village green so within close walking distance of restaurants, shops and galleries. Excellent hikes in the area, for both the novice and experienced hiker. Friendly service. We had the self-catering apartment which was spacious and clean with a fireplace and a barbecue area. Nice patio too.

NOISY number 6!!!!!!!

Our check in went smooth but once we got to our room we immediately realised that it was quite noisy. We mentioned this to the lady at reception who assured us that this is normally not the case and it may just be the group that is currently at the restaurant which is below us. We also couldn’t be moved to another room as it was a long weekend and everything was fully booked. Sadly the noise never got any better, in fact it only got worse... we could hear every person up and down the metal stairway, any activity in the rooms next to us - Euston we had screamers, all the patrons at the restaurant under us, motorbikes/cars revving their engines in the streets (day & night), the taxis picking up the waiters/employees from the restaurant after work in the evening pumping music right infront of our room... So needless to say a weekend away, desperate to relax, sleep in, take afternoon naps & go to bed early was royally destroyed. The rooms were clean and the underfloor heating was nice, but this was sadly all overshadowed by the dark noise cloud. The only thing that saved it a little was the amazing breakfast & coffee at the courtyard which was included in the stay. The other reviews must have slept in the rooms at the back, as there is hardly any mention of extreme noise in the other reviews, but beware of the rooms in the front. If you get 5-8 may the force be with you and the odds be forever in your favour!

Central location, high quality guesthouse.

The hotel room was excellent. Situated right in the middle of Clarens you can walk everywhere from the hotel. Rooms overlooking the village green can be a little noisey but not overly so and rooms overlooking the mountains are quieter. Room very nicely decorated and contained four poster bed and fireplace, high end spec air conditioning, hair dryer, shower all much appreciated. Caring staff and good service including laundry facility. Restaurant Vito's is underneath and serves good Italian food and there is also a well stocked small public bar. Very happy indeed with Red Mountain.
