It would be so easy to make this a "great" experience instead of simply a place to stay. Yes we were there off season but the price is the same...
A proper cooked breakfast instead of a chain hotel style bagels and muffins self serve - it was advertised as having hot breakfast options and on the 2 days when we could have breakfast in the dining room there were none. The other 2 days we received a "breakfast box" - day 1 this comprised 2 juice boxes and 4 small muffins with a small plate of sliced melon.
Also - it would be simple to have a few logs available for the fire instead of being told to "buy wood at the gas station".
There was no service in the cottage for the 4 nights we were there.
The pipes "screech" badly when showering (no chance of anyone else sleeping!) and there is only 1 bathroom for the entire cottage.
The properties are old and historic and the local environment lovely. But this was a disapponting choice.
