We reserved a room for the weekend for a family event nearby. Previously staying at Cabana was an amazing experience so we were hopeful that the familiarity and knowledge of the property would give us another top notch weekend away.
Since our last visit, I can only assume that management or ownership has changed because everything was completely different. Not only we charged. A daily rate for parking at the hotel, but breakfast is no longer included in the stay, although it is advertised on the website.
The room we booked online was not the room that we received upon our arrival, despite the nearly empty property, and a higher security deposit is now due at the time of reservation, even if you have already paid in full.
Lastly we had a ridiculous fruit fly problem in our room that seemed to linger the entire weekend, despite Not having one piece of fruit in our room. While the cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating, the condition of the room upon our arrival was subpar with sand on the floor, and hair on the walls in the bathroom. It’s almost like they cleaned all of the surfaces, but not necessarily the walls, handles, or floors very well.
I have always loved this hotel due to its location, and reasonable pricing, however, the hidden fees, and exclusions have really made me consider looking at a new place for our next visit in town.
