Beautiful over the water bungalow family stay!
Our family had a wonderful 5 night stay here! We booked a over the water bungalow and it provided a beautiful every day. The staff were great! Alejandro helped us find a sloth that was in the forest behind the hotel. Breakfast was always healthy and yummy. We had dinner once and it was tasty too. We were able to swim from our bungalow, the water was about waist deep, and even kayaked around the hotel. We booked a day tour of the area with the hotel in the third day, however it was just the three of us so they transfered us to another company they worked with. Despite the reviews about the sound/music from Bank Town, it wasn't a problem and we never used the provided ear plugs. Overall, we had a very relaxing and lovely time at Eclipse del Mar!

This place was perfect. The nature walk right by the hotel had monkeys, sloths, red frogs and all the birds you could want to see. It was all amazing. I would choose this place every time I came to Bocas del Toro.

This was the exact place we were looking to find for our 30th anniversary. The atmosphere at Eclypse was calming and zen like, so much fun staying in our private hut. Being able to swim right from your deck, and the surrounding grounds were fun to walk through and look for creatures. The staff was wonderful and very professional.

Our GO-TO paradise in Bocas area!
The Eclipse has it all. Great views, swimming right off of steps from our room, central location a short water taxi ride from Bocas Town and great beaches, exceptional service and good food, and a fun jungle walk where staff helped us to find a sloth and cayman. We'd highly recommend the Eclipse!

Excellent, memorable stay in overwater bungalows. Great staff. Bring your snorkel gear and enjoy breakfast in bed. Bring ear plugs, like the rest of the entire area- music in the night keeps us light sleepers awake.

Beautiful place to stay
Jumping into the clear water from your private bungalow each morning is wonderful. Great food and breakfast was included. On the downside the Old Bench is partying all night with the base traveling right into your bedroom. It’s a quiet retreat, if you want to party you need a water taxi which is $5 per person shared with others or $10 for just yourself. At night water taxi can go up to $20. Negotiate!

Overall, our stay was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I have some dietary restrictions and they made sure to accommodate me. Room view was fabulous, it would be awesome it they had AC or at least a bigger fan in the room and a fan in the sitting area/second room. We also had a bat come in our room and that was terrifying so putting screens on the windows so you can sleep with the windows open would extremely helpful. After that night we, had to sleep with everything close so it was very hot. The team that took us out on an excursion was very nice and friendly.

Great bungalows over the water, loud at night.
As a family with small children, we loved our stay and enjoyed being able to swim straight into the sea from our room. The holes in the room to feed the fish were great fun, and we enjoyed walking around the trail on the island looking for animals. The single beds were small so wouldn’t recommend for bigger children/adults. Breakfast was ok, but quite small. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it did feel a little overpriced for what it was. Also, the noise travelling over the water as mentioned in previous reviews is VERY loud on nights when there is a party going on.

Disappointed is the best word to describe our experience at this property. We reserved an Ocean View room with Expedia and when we arrived at the property we were told that Expedia mis represented the room. We were given the smallest room with the worst location at the property. Our view was not the ocean but the back of buildings. One wall was shared with the kitchen and the other wall with the reception area. It was noisy all day and night. The room as so small it barely fit a bed. So disappointed

I was with a party of eight including children during our stay. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, and the service was prompt. While we did not take advantage of any of the tours offered by the facility, we had lovely chats with staff members about things in the surrounding area, including the nature reserve on the property. The staff helped us find a sloth, as well as a red frog :-) the food served on site was delicious. We also took a vantage of the snorkeling gear. Well, it met our needs, if you want a clear view or the perfect fit I definitely recommend you bring your own. The accommodations in the room, met all of our needs and at all times, we felt safe. As far as surrounding accommodations/amenities, we did take a walk into old bank and enjoyed the cultural experience. I felt very thankful though to be staying at the bungalows as opposed to in town. I highly recommend this location.
