Rating property in "these areas" and "around the property" has "ZERO" to do with provisions & services at the facility. The evening hostess was pleasant. I USED to consider Hampton a cut above Best Western and Holiday Inn. The Hampton facility in Kenab was disappointing in that... 1) The Coffee maker was on a cove six inches above the floor - a location OBVIOUSLY not made for intended use. Therefore, I had to find an appropriate surface. No guest should need to bend over or come in contact with hotel carpet to find the coffee maker! Other hotels have a convenient cove near the entrance. 2) The morning hostess, although apologetic, gave a lame & contrary excuse that maybe there wasn't enough room on the greater than 10 S.F. of available surface area to place a less than 0.5 S.F. coffee maker. Excuses, especially contrary, are NEVER acceptable! 3) Breakfast... Fruit... Either tiny tangerines / tangelos or brown bananas! Yogurt... Yoplait or Dannon? I don't recall. Nonetheless... "REALLY"? low-quality yogurt at a "Hampton"? The following night, we stayed at a St. George, Utah, Marriot hotel, were educated on their "Courtyard, Residence & Fairfield" facilities, and received apologies and assurance, at every following Marriot, that EVERY discrepancy or discomfort would be tended to. For the following 11 nights, we chose either a Marriot Fairfield or Residence facility. I didn't rate anything as "poor" or "terrible", but, "Hampton" SHOULD have been better!
