Favourite Athens hideaway

This is my preferred hotel in Athens now, having stayed in many across the city over the past 6 years. The location is great. There is easy access to the M3 metro, which goes directly to the airport and Piraeus, plus Kolonaki is ideal for bars, cafes and restaurants. Staff are friendly and super helpful, and of course the natural beds are divine. I always sleep well!

Incredible staff, amazing room and bed

It was an excellent experience! I have never seen more polite stuff in my life. They went above and beyond to accommodate any need. The location was the best you can have in Athens. The room (urban suite) was just perfect and the bed the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The food was also very good even though some more options would have been desirable. Overall, I would definitely recommend it, not sure if you can find anything better in Athens.

Five star stay at Coco-Mat

We had a great stay at Coco-Mat. This is a little cute boutique hotel close and convenient to many attractions in Athens. There are nice restaurants and shops in walking distance to the hotel without the tourists crowd. The room was clean, comfortable and offered everything we needed for our 3 nights stay. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of tasty options. All the staff from reception, housekeeping and the restaurant were so polite, kind and professional and welcomed us with their beautiful Greek hospitality. We will recommend this hotel to our friends/family and we will definitely come back next time we are visiting Athens!

The hotel was overall very nice, but though I knew we'd booked an interior room, the lighting was terribly dark. For a room with essentially no windows, I would have expected a room brightened at least with lighting. That said, it was clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There are 3 coco at hotels in Athens. The pictures on Google are misleading- the coconut Athens does not have a swimming pool. Also all our rooms where facing a back patio so we had to keep the curtains closed otherwise no privacy… fancy and good breakfast but served on the lower level - why not at the beautiful roof top????

The room had basically no sunlight

The window was to an internal shaft without sunlight, facing the other room’s window perhaps just a meter away (so one would keep the blackout curtains shut anyway). The hotel is basically inside a shop (ok, they are a brand, but that is weird) with the reception in the basement to be reached through the shop. That feels more as a hostel than a proper hotel. One night the neighboring bar’s music was so loud that my room was shaking until 2am. Even taxis cannot park in front of the hotel. And yes, I was here on mistake as I thought I was booking the brand’s other hotel in Athens, entirely superior to this place, very expensive to a boutique hostel experience. Not recommended.

The property succeeded at being extemely eco-friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was that the shower water seeped under the shower door & flooded some of the bathroom floor. The housekeepers were aware and provided me with extra towels.
