Strategically located in the town center of Franschhoek and cosy room with a fireplace and ceiling fan. These are probably the only good things I can say about the hotel. The rest are just average or below. Despite our 2 pax 2-night stay, the policy of the hotel is only providing 1 bottle of drinking water of about 600ml. I had to ask the staff for a refill on the 2nd day which was declined initially but offered after about an hour or so - presumably the staff on duty need clearence from the management. It's just mean. Other not so nice experiences - puddle of continuously soaking wet fake grass to cross from the reception lobby to the rooms, brown rust like residure in the kettle (to be fair, the staff did help clean it spotless after I complaint), cheap plastic wine opener that broke upon first use, confusing signage with flights of stairs to climb - arriving first time, it's a real challenge dragging a big suitcase around to locate the reception looking for assistance, balcony door that only open one side, bathroom sliding partition that looks like it can be open fully but stuck halfway... it's a property that has great potential but not really feel like it's worth what we have paid for.
