Room did not meet expectations
I booked a king-size balcony room but was initially given an interior room at check-in. When I returned to the front desk to request the balcony room I had reserved, the clerk informed me that online reservation requests were not communicated to them and that such requests need to be made at check-in. While I understood this, it was frustrating.
I was then assigned a new room that overlooked the street but still didn’t have a balcony. At that point, I was too tired to go back downstairs to sort it out again and decided to let it go since it was only a one-night stay.
Later, I discovered that the curtains in the room wouldn’t close completely. Despite my best efforts, the three curtain panels wouldn’t stay in place, and I ended up spending the night with light shining into the room. It made for an incredibly uncomfortable night and poor sleep.
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times when visiting Roanoke for business and always had great experiences. This time, however, I was disappointed. My room was not as I reserved, even after requesting the change, and the issue with the curtains made the stay unpleasant. I’m hesitant to return after this experience.
