We recently stayed at the Gualala Country Inn and found it to be a charming and peaceful getaway nestled along California’s breathtaking coastline. The drive up Highway 1 to reach the inn was nothing short of spectacular—winding roads, dramatic ocean views, and forested stretches made the journey part of the experience. Once we arrived, we were immediately struck by the natural beauty surrounding the property. Deer wandered through the grounds, birds fluttered in the trees, and the overall serenity was exactly what we had hoped for.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet—ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. The rustic charm of the inn blended well with the peaceful coastal atmosphere, and we appreciated the simple, cozy accommodations.
However, we were genuinely disappointed to learn that breakfast is no longer offered. One of the deciding factors in booking the Gualala Country Inn was the advertised breakfast, and its absence was an unexpected letdown. It’s worth noting for future travelers, especially those arriving late or unfamiliar with the limited nearby dining options.
Despite that one drawback, the stay was still a lovely retreat into nature. With the right expectations, Gualala Country Inn offers a restful escape surrounded by scenic beauty and abundant wildlife.
