Booked based on great reviews on Hotels.com and SoMe. Was supposed to stay 6 nights, ended up checking out after 3 nights.
1. There was an extreme smell of mold throughout the entire room/bathroom. The mold was also very visible, the curtains, the walls and the shower.
2. The aircon was not working properly and I assume this is also why they have a mold problem. Humidity was extreme in the room and all our clothes and stuff ended up damp, and nothing (swim/beachwear) was close to drying. Due to the climate in Zanzibar I would say it’s very important that there is a functioning aircon with dehumidification function.
3. The room was dirty, especially around the bed, windows and shower.
4. On the bottom part of the window, there were no glass, only mosquito netting. Due to this, it was moist and very noisy in the room. We felt like we were sleeping in a tent on the street. We could hear everything happening outside and had trouble sleeping because of this.
5. The lady in the reception tried to make a problem out of us checking out later than 12:00, which is crazy as we had already paid for 6 nights, but wanted to leave after 3 nights.
6. Over all, in serious need of upgrade, but even small things like mosquito netting around the bed, sheets/linen and towels had holes.
7. Impossible to get sunbeds unless you wake up at 7 to put your towel down. Dirty pools and facilities.
Very disappointed, we expected more from a 4 star hotel.
