The Spectator was probably the best hotel I have stayed at, even better than The Broadmoor. The service was on point...we were greeted by a butler (Wil) who gave us every bit of information we could want about our stay in Charleston, and his suggestions did not disappoint. We were greeted with a cocktail for my husband and I, mocktails for the girls, plus chocolates, and there was a bottle of wine AND a full, complimentary mini bar with local snacks and sodas and water.
The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and they had umbrellas available at the door, which were definitely needed. It's located in the French Quarter. Tons of restaurants and attractions around. We liked Magnolias and O Bar.
If we come back to Charleston I would be thrilled to stay there again. The VIP deal Hotels.com offered ended up being way more generous than I had expected. The wonderful Spectator staff members are why.
