The Good:
Convenient Location: The guest house is situated right by the train station, making it a quick and easy trip into Venice.
Space: The converted apartment was clean and spacious, featuring a common area.
The Bad:
Billing Discrepancy: We booked through Hotels.com for 390 EUR for 4 nights, but upon arrival, the manager attempted to add an extra 20 EUR. They only honored the original booking price after we threatened to walk away.
Severe Safety Hazard (Locked In): The main apartment door can be locked from the outside, but the inside unlocking mechanism was disabled. On two separate occasions, we were completely locked inside the apartment. With no on-site staff and zero response to phone calls or emails, we had to rely on strangers on the street to use the building buzzer to summon the manager. This wasted an hour of our time.
Missing Amenities: Many amenities advertised on booking sites were completely unavailable, including laundry facilities, shuttle service, breakfast, a gym, and free bicycles.
Building Tensions: There were multiple signs posted throughout the building reading "no hotel wanted in building," making the environment uncomfortable.
Non-Existent Management: With no staff on-site and unresponsive phone and email contacts, customer service is practically nonexistent.
Verdict:
If you are looking for a great experience in Venice, avoid booking here
