Perfect place to stay for a night or two. A little bit out of our time - well, furniture and an entire design of the room remains good old fifties. But conveniet and comfortable enough to be back in a future. Staff is highly efficient and very polite indeed. Glad I choose this place.

8/10 Very good

The staff was super nice. The room was clean and the bed comfy. It was quiet. The only issue was the hall and stairs. The carpets were nasty. I was so happy when I saw the room was clean.

Was a total dump. Propety had non functional bathrooms. Holes cut in walls garbage everywhere . Alerted management. The next morning.(kind of stuck there for a night) manager was not really interested in hearing my complaints. Checked out early....hopefully I was not charged for the two additional nights. I would not list this hotel on expedia....it is a work in progress/decline?

It was cheap, that's about the only positive. They had blinds in our room and half the blinds were missing. The bed was hard and the hallway smoke detector chirped every 30 seconds. The ceiling light/fan base in the bathroom was missing. I have stayed at alot of cheap hotels, this just made it to the top of my "worst sleep" places.

Both my husband and his friend got bit by what looks like bed bugs! Faucet in bathroom dripped constantly, tub wouldn't drain, hair on walls in shower area. No outlets to plug phone in, the lamp wasn't even plugged into anything. The cord was just hanging. Not good at all!
Kerry, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Property was good. Staff was ok. When checked in the guy didn’t say 2 words to me. A lot of food options around but mainly fast food. Room was clean, comfortable. Really didn’t have an issue with anything just didn’t feel welcome on checkin.

Reasonable

Facility is old, but the room was clean. Television didn't work. Reasonable for the price.

The property was clean, but needs repairs and updating. Stayed in 2 rooms, refrigerator was not working and the heater in the other room was not working. They had little heaters plugged into wall, they did work very well.

Property needs upgrading badly!!! Conditions in my room doesn't justify the $80.00 price! Very noisy, mainly from antiquated refrigerator, but bathroom has a set of problems as well!!! Overall I don't recommend it!!!

Only 1 star, will not return

The person who checked us is was nice, even went and turned the AC on for us. However, the room STUNK so bad. The carpet was filthy - black stains everywhere and if you walked barefoot on it, left your feet gritty. Phone didn't work, walls had marker on them and were just filthy in general. Shabby and dirty overall. Paint peeling off of the walls. Tub had a super slow drain - but that was fixed in the middle of our stay. Towels were sparse and stained. The light fixture in the bathroom had space for 2 bulbs in it - 1 was just an exposed, empty light socket - in the bathroom where the shower was! No shower curtain, linoleum behind toilet was pulled up and gross. Curtains weren't on their hangers. The stench of the room was terrible - somewhere between stale smoke and old wet dog. And it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The reason for 1 star is that it was a roof over our heads and there was a lock on the door - but we did put a chair under the door handle too. SO NASTY!!

I understood with the price that this wouldn't be the most updated property. However the upkeep was pretty bad with stains on the walls and ceilings, missing vents, and trash in the hallways. The smell of the hallways was pretty bad, but the room wasn't terrible. Surprisingly, these were not the worst parts of this hotel. The Island Inn is very unsafe. Staff are not there at night, and one of the nights staying there the police had to be called because multiple people were fighting in the hallway after midnight. My friends and I were all woken up to the fighting outside our door. The police were called by other guests. The officers had to knock on doors to find the people because there were no staff there to tell them where the problem was coming from! There is no secure entrances into the hotel, anyone can just walk in at any time of the night and cause a disturbance. Please spend the extra money somewhere else. I can deal with outdated, however safety is a HUGE concern here. If you choose to stay here, Good luck getting sleep with all the commotion at this hotel. This could all be solved of the hotel was staffed, and locked down properly.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Did not stay. Not even up to 1 star standard. TV was on when I got to the room which had a space heater going and was easily 90 degrees in the room. The unit heater/ac unit was unplugged and all the buttons were missing. I also noticed a small toy on the floor when I came in. Tried to turn the lamp on, but the bulb was missing. Went to check out the bathroom next. The cover to the overflow valve on the tub was barely hanging on. The ceiling had cracks all over, and the bathroom light was hanging down and missing a few parts. Really started to rethink my stay stay. Next I thought I'd check the mattresses. Found a curly hair on the pillow. Not sure if it was pubic, but either way. . . gross. Also found two bugs(alive) on the pillow. This was too much. I couldn't stay here. Next, I found out that I had been charged twice for the room. The manager claimed I didn't tell him that I had reserved a room ahead of time(I did) so I was charged for the initial reservation AND the new room charge. Unbelievable. After going back and forth for a bit he pulled $60 cash out of an envelope to reimburse me. Worst hotel experience of my life. Please, do yourself a favor. AVOID THE ISLAND INN !!!
