Such a cute old fashioned place to stay! I think this place captures Seward perfectly and is less than a 5 min walk everywhere.
Room was dingy didn't look like it had been cleaned well. Dust bunnies in the corners and rug not vaccumed. The magazines were from 2007 and dog eared. Sponge for cleaning dishes had leftover food still on it. No one to show us to room or available to greet. Bedding for spare bed was 4 pillowcases and no sheets.
Great place in the heart of downtown
I loved the vintage building and the way it has been restored. The bed was a bit uncomfortable It was a bit too hard but otherwise it was wonderful.
It was a great space. Building is old - but they have done a nice job of providing modern amenities and feel!
Nice people to communicate, good place to stay, perfect location to go anywhere. Clean room and cozy bathroom. I like Cafe restaurant downstairs. I would like to recommend.
Great location. However, the same was not the cleanest. The building is very old. Seems highly priced for what you get.
The apartment itself was nice. It was clean and well kept. There was even some games and things for us to do. However, my complaint is with two things: 1. The bed in the "master" bedroom was SO loud and really uncomfortable. Anytime either one of us moved, even a little, it made so much noise that it woke up the two kids sleeping in the living room, even with all the doors closed. 2. My bigger complaint - we were woken up at 6:30 AM to blaring music and bass from what we can assume was the coffee shop below us. So, not only did none of us get a good night's rest, we were woken up way earlier than we had all intended. Overall, the place was nice, but I would not stay here again for the two reasons noted above.
This is a great place to stay in Seward. It’s near lots of shops and eating options. The space was large, clean and had full amenities. I would absolutely recommend staying here! There is a kind-of steep staircase to enter the second floor of the building, if mobility is a concern.
The property was extremely old. Felt like I was breaking my grandmother's back with each step up the stairs. Floor boards in the room creaked as loud and more no matter how soft the step. Bath tub had no stopper. Radiator were cranking heat out with no means of adjustment as valves were corroded in place forcing us to leave almost all windows open. This inturn meant smelling the forest fire smoke nonstop as well as neighbors who liked to gather on the rooftop immediately outside the room. Had no hot water on checking in. Matt resolved the issue quickly but hot water availability was spotty depending on which residents were using it. Kitchenette was great and had plenty of items to cook meals along with a nice sized fridge. Location was great as there were plenty of coffee shops and restaurants within minutes. We were given $20 per day in vouchers for use in the Sea Bean next door and who made a pretty decent pannini/cappuccino. This was a "first trip" to Alaska learning experience. We had no idea that cost wise it was elevated similar to Hawaii. I felt that while quaint and nice we did not get a value equivalent to what we paid. Honestly, I have had better accomodations in third world countries like Indonesia and Thailand. Sadly, we will not be using the facility again.
