The recently renovated room was pleasant and fine. The lobby lounge was very nice, there is a decent exercise room, and the pool area was lovely although the swimming pool was ice cold.
What made the stay special was the staff - everybody we encountered went out of their way to be gracious, Roy and Kirsten on in the reception area, the morning staff all of them in the breakfast room, and housekeeping in maintenance as we pass them in the corridors. We weren't asking for stuff left and right, they were just checking in to make sure everything was really good. And it was my mom said this was the best Holiday Inn she ever stayed at.
The restaurant there opened 4 days ago, and they have it dialed. We had a fantastic buffet breakfast on Saturday morning, which consisted of a variety of American items Very good coffee fruit and home cooked eggs not powdered eggs. The chef, Louis, whose house made puff pastries maybe fruit strudel, absolutely divine and rivals any fine bakery in Sonoma County.
Nothing special about the amenities but everything was very clean. Although the hotel was super noisy even from a quiet room because it is right next to the freeway and it is a holiday weekend with lots of traffic, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
